動物纖維（蛋白質）：
桑蠶絲 mulberry silk ,家蠶絲，以桑葉為食的蠶所吐出的長絲 柞蠶絲 tussah silk ，野蠶絲，以柞樹葉為食的蠶所吐出的長絲 羊 毛 wool ,主要指綿羊毛，屬于蛋白質短纖維
兔 毛 rabbit hair ,主要為安哥拉兔和家兔所產蛋白質短纖維 駝 毛 camel hair ,纖維較粗，主要用于工業紡織品 植物纖維（纖維素）

非常簡易的燃燒判別方法：
定 義： 將織物放在明火上燒，觀察其纖維受熱后變形情況，火焰狀況，燃燒的難易速度， 散發出的氣味和顏色，燃燒后的灰燼和剩余物的形狀，硬度等到方法進行鑒定。
方法：
棉： 遇火即燃，速度快，呈黃色火焰，稍有灰白煙和燃紙的氣味，燒焦類燼細軟，呈深灰色。
麻纖維： 與棉相似，但灰燼呈灰白色。
羊 毛： 不延燃，遇為先卷縮，燃燒后纖維起泡，火焰為桔黃色，在燒蛋白質的味道，燃燒速度較棉快，灰燼多，呈不成型黑褐色形狀，用手一壓即碎，成散粉末。
蠶 絲： 燃燒形狀與毛纖維相似，先卷成一團，燃燒速度較羊毛快，蛋白質的味道，但氣味要比羊毛小。燒后呈褐色小球狀物。
粘膠纖維：與棉相似，燃燒速度比棉快，黃色火焰，燒紙氣味，灰燼呈灰或淺灰色。
絳 綸： 燃燒時滴下熔融物，火焰呈藍色。頂端有黑煙，略代芳香氣味，灰燼呈硬塊，手指一壓即碎。
錦 綸： 不易燃燒，見火先卷縮，熔融物為透明膠狀，趁熱可拉出絲，有芹菜的味道。灰燼不易碎。
滌 綸： 燃燒時纖維卷縮,一面熔化一面冒煙燃燒,有黃色火焰,有芳香氣味,灰為黑褐色硬塊,用手可捻碎
錦 綸： 一面熔化,一面緩慢燃燒,燃燒時無煙或略有白煙,火焰很少,呈藍色.有芹菜氣味,灰為淺褐色硬塊,不易捻碎
晴 綸： 是一面熔化一面的緩慢燃燒,火焰呈白色 明亮有力,有時略有黑煙.有 魚腥臭味,灰為黑色圓球狀,脆而易碎
醋酯纖維： 燃燒緩慢,熔化后離開火焰,一面熔化一面燃燒,有刺鼻的醋酯味.灰為黑色有光澤塊狀,可用手指壓碎
丙 綸： 一面卷縮一面熔化燃燒 火焰明亮呈藍色 有燒臘的氣味 灰為硬塊,能捻碎. 維 綸： 燃燒時纖維迅速收縮,緩慢燃燒,火焰很小,呈紅色:有特殊臭味,灰為褐色硬塊,可用手捻碎
氯 綸： 難燃,接受火焰時收縮 燃燒,離火即熄滅.有氯的煙鼻臭位,灰為不規則的黑色硬塊.氯綸是一種天然阻燃纖維.用的少.
